Already a strong start to the story, great introduction to hook the readers. If you love crows, you will probably like this fantasy book that includes them in the lore. I am also getting a feeling of Native American inspired.
Huge fan of the world building as well - the politics are already well established and the tension is set.
No comment on the magic system yet.
