This book has somewhat poor organization because it doesn't outright define its terms, but couches them in the text.

He makes some good points.

In the anarchism chapter, May develops anarchism in its critique of Marxism, emphasizing how this roots it in tactical political philosophy. He then contrasts this with the centrality anarchism places on humanist naturalism and suppressive power. This prefigures May's intervention of post-structuralism into anarchism as a way to save tactics, while eschewing natural humanism and a purely suppressive theory of power.

Locke loves meandering, but there are some gems:

"Thus, however much men are in earnest and constant in pursuit of happiness, yet they may have a clear view of good, great and confessed good, without being concerned for it, or moved by it, if they think they can make up their happiness without it. Though as to pain that they are always concerned for. They can feel no uneasiness without being moved."

Okay, that was a really well-written summary of Western Marxism, especially for a book the main topic of which is not Western Marxism. However, Marx, Marxism, Leninism, and Western Marxism are definitely concurrent, contemporaneous, and concomitant with the theories and theorists of anarchism and "post-structuralism", so this exegesis was welcomed for many reasons.
