I'm uncertain how I feel about this book so far. I'm familiar with how romance stories work...there has to be some reason preventing the couple from being happily together until closer to the end. So far, it seems like the reason in this book is that one of them gets raped in chapter 2 and is traumatized. I'm trying to reserve judgement and give this book a chance, but this doesn't sit well with me.

Laughing as John repeatedly slags off geology in the early going. What did we ever do to you, John! 😅

Really interesting so far.

I love Clark's writing. So evocative, often cinematic in its descriptions. Just outstanding. Loving this book.
