the author does a great job of intertwining the exposition, of which there is a lot of ground to cover, with the story. the main plot points are set up fairly early on and i’m already very interested in the characters and am excited to see where this book takes me.

it reads like a history book. i’ve only read the first chapter so i’m not sure if i like it yet or not, but as always, grrm’s attention to detail and imagery never disappoints.
