The main character is getting very annoying / irresponsible / dumb but then I remembered this is a YA novel and I guess I signed up for that

it’s making me chuckle that I had a very similar conversation with my mom that phoebe just had with her dad (except my anxiety is much more future-focused than her anxiety)

I was hesitant to read this since I didn’t like yours truly but this is a lot better (at least thus far)

I lowkey don’t like this book… I don’t love the depiction of anxiety (or maybe it’s that I don’t relate to the type of anxiety he has) and I am NOT into miscommunication / lack of communication

um pretty sure this will be the only tessa bailey book I read!

3.75/5 - well, what I read was certainly not what I thought I was getting into but I enjoyed it (or maybe intrigued by it is the better way of saying it)

so turns out this is a thriller and i did not know that! thought i was getting into a TJR evelyn hugo or EH great big beautiful world situation. so now all the animal and meat stuff makes more sense

I know this is a book about a celebrity chef (whose husband died) but I wasn’t expecting so much talk about slaughtering of animals! Ew!

3/5 - First section was really good. It went a bit downhill from there but still entertaining

too long, but still cute. A low 3/5

4/5 - I liked it! when i didn't like it, it was because january was inventing facts in her head or coming to a conclusion w/o sufficient evidence to make that conclusion. i guess law school really does teach you to constantly look for faulty arguments

Okay I don’t get January as much as I thought I did (girl loves to invent facts and jump to conclusions)

a lot of people and POVs but a lot of nothing happening ... i can like that when the nothing is interesting but that is not the case here

3/5 - eh, i cared more about the side plot than the main plot at times. i also feel like it ended rather quickly
