The last 25% of this book saved it for me. It was a struggle to get there but went from a 2 ⭐️ to a 4 ⭐️

I hate the MMC Valen. That’s the intention but I’m very close to DNF’ing because of it. All that has happened so far is betrayal, murder, and torture to which the MFC has maintained her strength through. *However* Then MFC gets a taste of Valens blood and suddenly she’s willing to beg & bend to his every whim? Wtf.

58% - So far I’m not loving this book. Has potential but honestly underwhelming and a bit boring over 50% in.

About 50% in…. Currently 2.5 stars. Feeling very rushed, nothing has really happened yet and very little story.

I’m struggling with this series. I’ve heard / read so many good things about it and I really enjoyed Carissa’s serpent & the wings of night series. Something about this one is just not drawing me in.
