I’m going to like this one…I can tell.🙂

I don’t think this is for me. I can’t put my finger on why. But I have 500 more pages to go and I am not looking forward to it. I am DNFing this for now. I may try it again later.

Nothing has really happened. I had no trouble picking up the story, there are enough reminders along the way. But it is all “Bjorn you betrayed me and I cannot trust you. (But I love you).” “Freya I would do anything for you please forgive me!” “But what do we do about the curse?” Basically the first 160 pages., you are welcome. I am DNFing this because I don’t care how this works out. Too slow.

I feel like I have given enough time to say this book is a huge NO for me. I absolutely hate the main characters and they don’t improve with further reading. The dialog is awful too. This is the least sexy romantasy I have ever read. If I have to read one more time about how he can smell her desire…so gross. I have lots more complaints but I am out of space.

I just cannot connect with the main character; she is so unlikable. There are also way too many cringey moments and bad dialogue. Plot is also transparent and world building negligible.

Somebody’s is a fan of Watcher’s Ghost Files. For some reason this is not holding my attention. It may be too cringey. So DNFing.

So far it is the plot of the movie "Big" complete with a "Zoltar" machine but for new adults. I'm gonna see where it goes.

The level of detail is excruciating. I am not sure I will be able to finish this. I am not a super fan so I may not be the best person to give an opinion on this. Like most of the books I've read lately it could use a heavy edit, but I get the impression from this book that the author had full creative control (as she insisted for all her projects) so this must be what she wanted.

I do not like either main character. So far the book has just been a downer, so uncomfortable to read. DNFing.

Reviews say this is slow to start and I just don't have the patience for it. First chapter was good. Then the book started jumping between past and present and I was done. I did try this author's other fantasy series and I couldn't get through that either for the same reason. I love Murderbot though. I'm not sure why none of her other writings appeal to me.

The humor in this is too juvenile for me and the MC's taste in men is atrocious. Very cute in spots but not enough to keep me reading.

DNFing. I had so many problems with this but I was okay until I hit the lobster scene and then I couldn't take anymore. I did not care for Merry much at all, she was very boring. She's in France weeks and all she did was clean the chateaux and go to one vineyard. Also she goes on about Leo and Angela over and over and over...

I'm going to DNF this. Too many people behaving badly and there is too much of that in real life for me to want to read this for fun. Maybe it is a New York thing?

The translation isn't great. I don't care for the use of Americanized names. It pulls you out of the story. Changing POVs every couple of pages is confusing. Very depressing and hard to read. I'm going to DNF this. Lots of triggers.

I am struggling to like the main character. This is almost really good and it has some cute moments. But my failure to connect with the characters males this a DNF for me.

DNFing. The main character is ridiculous and I can't do it....

There are lots of things that make no sense. I feel like this should have been set in Florida, Louisiana or the Deep South in the 1910s or something not in the 1950s to 1970s Carolinas. Also, they were listening to a battery powered radio five years before they were commercially viable and for someone so poor, impossible! Did the author do ANY research? A bit of an insult to readers...

I will be DNFing this book because there are too many historical inaccuracies. Once you take away her pious Catholic mother, make her ugly (she wasn't), make her a giant (she was tall for then, about 5'2," but not overly tall), remove her visions (from migraines or epilepsy) and the voices in her head--all you have left is a work of fiction. Don't expect to learn anything about Joan in this book.

I don't like the main character and every 3 chapters alternate between timelines. I hate that. Book was really slow reading for me. DNF!

This is really really not good. This is handled with zero sensitivity and there are so so many things wrong with this. I can't believe this got published much less a 5 star review.

Not caring for the main character. Will probably DNF.

Initially enjoyed and interesting characters and premise. However: huge overuse of cu-t, wh-re, nd b-tch by both male and female characters gets old; dialog doesn't flow naturally at times, and I can't believe that no one had a clue that Beatrix was a psychopath.

Enjoying so far!

Gonna DNF this for now. It is not holding my interest.

I think she is my new favorite romance writer. I'm hooked already. Her books make me smile! 🙂 I have loved everything she has written.

Enjoying so far...mostly. Discovered that it is a love triangle which I hate. Gonna stick it out because I am curious to see how this ends.

DNFing. I really wanted to like this one. It sounded cute but I really don't like Lina. This is an enemies to lovers trope in a workplace environment much like "The Hating Game," but this feels very one sided with Lina doing all the hating and not for any good reason. She is an engineer, so supposedly really smart but her decisions are just ridiculous like not accepting help to plan an event that she can't.

Dnfing. Reggie is just too mean for me, her constant belittling of Jon is too painful to read. I loved the premise but the main characters are just so over the top in their behaviors and they act so immature.
