I started with the audiobook, but with 6 different narrators there are just too many versions of each characters’ voice. A few of the narrators are great, but two are awful.

I’m on my third attempt to get through this for my book club and I keep asking ’Why’. I’m halfway through the book and none of what is talked about in any of the blurbs has happened yet. It’s depressing to look at how miserable her work environment was and infuriating to see her male colleagues using her knowledge to advance their own work. I do not understand the appeal.

Dnf. I find this so slow and there’s nothing about the’banter’ that draws me in. I think Aaron’s initial judgment on Lina was justified, the more time spent in her internal monologue the less I care for her which I doubt was the intent in writing. Maybe if it were 100 pages shorter?

This book was complicated in a very good way. There were times when I felt there were too many stories, but they came together so beautifully that I am fine with all of them. It’s hard to find a final book in a series that gives the ending it deserves and Simon Snow, greatest magical work of fiction (according to the professor from Fangirl) got the ending he deserves.

P 25 - resisting your reality instead of embracing it is unproductive and ultimately not useful.
