The 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘩 is finally happening

Every chapter I have to remind myself about the main plot.

I breezed through the first half but I cannot, for the love of god, get through a chapter in the second half without dozing off.

I thought this was a suspense/thriller first. A quarter of the way in, I think I can safely say that it's not - but it's turning out to be quite a pleasant surprise

I've been considering that the metaphors are either too profound or my iq is too low to appreciate them (I'll let you guess which option I favored)

The writing got worse with the addition of Simon.

Just finished chapter 1 and I have to admit, I like this kind of dry humour.

I swear - being able to cut, chew, and swallow my lunch while reading how he ripped the dog open (and vividly described the guts) - is a goddamn skill.

This is too boring. I'm sorry; I really tried.

At what age should I be reading this to justify the 5-star reviews? Because it definitely feels like a tryhard Lord of the Flies retelling.

I’m probably setting a record for the number of times I’ve cringed from reading a book... and I’m only just 17% through! Like, is there any page that Rune and Poppy don’t kiss? Cos no shit I really thought the title was supposed to be a metaphor.
