Slogging, boring, impossible to get through. Only read a third and decided I had enough.

Too YA for me.

Dreadful. Characters I couldn’t care less about.

Didn’t read much. Not the slightest interested in these characters.

Didn’t care for this. The main character wasn’t that interesting and the gun detail was incredibly boring. More info than I’d ever want to the point that I’m not finishing the book.!Very disappointing since I’ve enjoyed so many of get previous books.

Having trouble getting into this book. Not sure if it’s the character or the writing but it feels like a slog. Don’t think I’m finishing this one.

Didn’t like it so didn’t finish it. I had no real sympathy or empathy for the character. She seemed to be a whiner to me. We all have paths we didn’t take for one reason or another and it’s just a matter of accepting that and moving on, which she was incapable of doing. She really bored me.

Second book I’ve read by him. His writing is wonderful but I was not able to connect with this character or the others’. Last one by him. Wasn’t even interested in finishing

I’m about half way through and this book is not the first fiction I have read this year where a theme is the past president’s behavior and choices. Maybe novelists should resist this kind of political commentary, but his “values” effected so many sectors of society I’m not sure they could be ignored.

I’d be a lot happier with this if the author took out the unnecessary romantic sighs, looks, etc and just stuck to the main plot. It’s distracting.

Very slowly getting into it.

I’m having a hard time deciding how I feel about this book. As much as the town residents have an impact on the crime I did think she spent too much time with it. Those characters we’nt that interesting,

Couldn’t keep my interest

Totally unbelievable plot but fun nevertheless.

I am definitely beyond the point of reading about dysfunctional families. Such dramatics. This her second and last book I’m reading.

Feh. Pretty predictable and not much action. More psychology and little mystery. I’ll give one more book a try and then it’s bye bye Maisie

I had high hopes for it since reader reviews were so good but Im totally aggravated by Caroline and her obsession with Paul. Give it up. Don’t understand why the author is spending so much time on this arc.
