This book is so far different from what I usually read and I am enjoying it immensely. There’s no thrilling plot, the characters are a little mundane but extremely intelligent and that makes it a little fun to carry on with them. I’m finding out that without even knowing Renee and Paloma have a lot in common. Sidenote: I like short chapters

Excellent so far. Typical Harlan. Draws you in immediately, can’t put it down, obsessing over it until I finish ignoring the family– – you know

A bit better. Found a human skull in the garden tree. Suspicion gaining.

Boooooooring

I chose this book because it was listed as one of the top best thrillers per the New York Times. I’m about 1/3 the way through the book and I’m nearly bored tears and thinking about giving it up. So far nothing thrilling about it other than some guy has been beaten up and we don’t know why and he nearly cost him his life.

Pretty good. A little long on the end.
