Bobby J sure does love to get his female characters naked for no reason, huh?

this book is so racist omfg

Caitlin did you need to pad out your word count because we don't really need TWO PARAGRAPHS describing a character getting in a LIFT 😑

Well I think I might have figured out the twist already (with a little help from the book cover) 🙄

Not the usual kind of thing I would read but apparently it has a really good twist so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

"This is Not America" *spends 30 pages talking about America and Americans* 🤔

Apparently there are no Hispanic or Latino people in Britain 🤨 Who knew.

wow this is FUCKED UP.

Apparently I've read this before but U have absolutely no recollection of it whatsoever so that bodes well 🤭

this is another BookTube/Tok recommendation so hopefully it's not terrible 😬

wow this is incredibly boring so far.

It's always quite weird reading a book set in your own city, even if it takes place in Victorian times 😅

Also, I'm assuming this gets good at some point because so far it is fairly middling.

Maybe I've just had a long day but this chapter, "The Great Caliban" is absolutely fucking indecipherable 😵‍💫

I really don't know why I bought this book considering the only thing I'm really squeamish about is EYE TRAUMA 🙄

this book is really gross. Not just in terms of the horror, but in how dirty everything is. ew.

I am definitely on a short horror fiction binge right now lol.

This writing style is so pretentious jfc.

I am not enjoying this AT ALL but also I want to know what is going on.

This is so boring wow.

The dynamic between Tylin and Mat makes me extremely uncomfortable 😬 I know this series is kind of known for the weird attitude to gender but it's all very...rapey.

My reading challenge was going too well so I decided to read a 724 page book that is widely considered to be the start of "the slog" 🤷🏻‍♀️

I fucking hate Tom bastard Bombadil

A re-read as I haven't read this in AGES. (It's not the telly tie-in edition either thank fuck)

This was the only book on the shelf I could reach with the cat on my knee and I've never read it!

There are so many inaccuracies and omissions in this book and I'm only on page 32!
A "pre-war" Japanese film that was made in 1953?
"Carrie" being described as a slasher? Making out like zombie movies didn't exist prior to 1943 when "White Zombie" was released in 1932?
Christ.

let's fuckin goooooooooooo

ngl, I forgot I even had this 🤷🏻‍♀️

Last of my spooky season rereads.
