What a horrible book. It reminds me why I quit reading Christian fiction.
At least once a chapter, someone says something about how "you're a believer, your wife can't just leave you, you can't get a divorce " etc. And?
And omg, both of them are unsufferably selfish and stupid, especially for adults in their 50s

So far, this is a very crap book, written by someone who did very little research

I still do not understand how this woman is adopted and raised by a family for 35 years, reconnects to her biological family and suddenly the adoptive family isn't her real family anymore.

Honestly she sounds whiny so far. She herself was not a nazi victim nor an actual nazi and somebody should smack her with those facts.

I remember really liking this book a few years ago. Now I'm more of the mind to slap the main character. Seriously, she loses her job, can't pay her bills but let's go out to eat and buy clothes at Nordstrom???? I can't afford to that now and I do have a job!
And why would she be calling about a condo for rent when she hasn't got a job or any sort of savings to pay for it, which is why she lives with her parents?

So far I'm disappointed. I've loved her elm Creek novels and it isn't that this book is badly written or researched, it's that it's clearly obvious what her political leanings are as she repeatedly subtlety draws comparisons to hitlers Germany and trumps America. I don't read historical fiction for the authors politics, especially modern day politics, they don't belong in historical novels.

I'm in shock that anyone can consider the border camps the same as the concentration camps as described here. I'm in shock that this pastor, clearly better Christian then I,could look these Nazis in the face and proclaim the Bible to them and see them not as the monsters they were but as men. When you read their trial transcripts and think how the hell can even God forgive that? It is very difficult to understand

Putting this badly written book away for the night. Definitely written with a feminist bent as it's hell bent on we hate men, men take all the credit, women can do everything better then men.
Seriously.

Omg this book needed a way better editor.
52 year old Maria goes to South America. 21 months after getting there, cuts her five year trip short after getting malaria.now by the end of the paragraph the then 62 year old Maria Um what?
I flipped to the start of Maria's chapter. Yup,she should be still in her 50s judging by the birth year of 1647. If she left for S. America in 1699, well 21 months later it's what, 1701?

Margaret was born the youngest of five, with two older brothers and sisters. Now, I'm gonna assume that means two of each but that's not how it should be written.
Also, did not realize that this book was basically we hate men. Hate to break it to the author but believe it or not, men actually did invent things by themselves and didn't always just take the credit from women.

But the writing is terrible (and like, so many notes like this. Lol and dude), as another review said, is this a Tumblr post or a book?
But the biggest mistake I just read is this- the couple met in Russia. By the end of the paragraph, they meet in San Francisco. Now, geography isn't my thing but I'm pretty sure San Francisco is not in Russia.

this is a difficult book to read. It's fascinating but since I know how it ends,it's also heartbreaking. It brings to life several people from 9/11, some who lived, some didn't, but it makes them so much more then just numbers or a name on a list.
