This is not a book that you rush through. You take your time to listen, live with this family, savor the lyrical prose. There is not a whole lot of action, it's more of slow burn but the story, while very sad, keeps you interested and invested. I've been reading a few chapters a day, a few times a day.

This book is all over the place. It's not a linear timeline which is odd for a memoir. It's not even a flashback and return to the main story, it's just all over the place.
