I hate her husband! Truly, honestly DEEEEESPISE him! Some was lurking around your car in the dark? Dont worry about it! Someone tried to break into our house while we were sleeping? Let it go, it was nothing! You talked to my ex wife? What is wrong with you? Dont ever talk to her again and dont listen to what she says! Bro...can you be next.?.

I want to know who did, how, and why....but dang....this story is boring so far. Not to mention Stella (the pov) is not likeable. For me at least!

Steph's mom got 3 tickets so the whole family would leave but her dad said no. So her mom tooknthe 1 and left. The fire started because of a cigarette. Steph's death was an accident because she got lost/confused due to being drunk and scared.

Oh look....another problem I have with this story.

Why are the counselors not staying WITH the children at night!? I went to plenty of sleep away camps in the day and not a ONE let us kids sleep alone! Every cabin had at least 1 "adult" staying with us at night in case of emergencies. This makes NO sense! This is a book set in reality...make it so!

I already have a problem with this book! Everyone is acting like this tragedy happened 15-20 years ago when really it's only 5. The people involved are late 20s MAYBE 30. "Botox is your friend." You're 28ish, you dont need it! "Why havent you written a book? Think you cant do it?" You're 27ish, your career is just starting! The late 20s attitude is there, but the dialog is around 40s.

I dont understand how an author can make reading two chapters feel like you read 18! Liv Zander is a poet! This book is such a smooth read (minus the icky parts) that I cant believe Im only half way through! Omgosh!! What more can she throw at us?!?

Ok....Courtney needs to reel it in a little. I know some people dont work well under pressure and I know it's her brother and SIL that we're ☠️, but GIRL! You are a grown ass woman! Pull it together!

Ok....miscommunication is my least favorite trope! I HATE it and have been known to yell at books because a little chat can go a loooong way! And though this book is a second chance romance, it is 100 miscommunication.

But I like it. It's weird! This miscommunication makes the characters feel like real people to me. Granted, I still feel like a little chat and maybe some couples therapy would have fixed everything!

This is the type of support everyone should have from their partner! I love already!
