She meets all the other contestants. They all are very wealthy indigenous girls who own restaurants and such. This intimidates Virginia a lot.

She was tacked down at her job by two people a man and a woman. They are surprised visitors to her which she doesn't like getting because she always thinks it will be someone from her past. They are there to ask her to represent their company as queen of corn water and sky.

Virginia found out what her culture meant to the tourist. They say that the indigenous culture it the main tourist attraction. They like all the in and outs of indigenous culture.

Virginia found the house of her fantasy. she describes it of having supper high ceilings and indoor garden. At the top of the ceiling there is a big window letting sun shine on the garden.

Virginia wanted to be in a mother's day play. In the play she did really good. She did a good job acting out her part. She made it seem so real when she was crying it even made the audience cry.

Virginia started her first day of school. Her first class was spanish class. She realized she was the tallest kid in her class by a long shot.

Virginia has come with her family to pick her things up. Nino Carlitos answers the door and tells Virginia to get inside the house. He is Furious and demands she tell him where she was. Then when she says she is leaving he tells them to come in so they can talk.

Virginia was in a mother's day play. she did really good in the play but her parents didn't seem as happy with her. Virginia feels like she did bad when actually she did really good.

Virginia called her sister. She used the neighbors phone. She told her sister to come pick her up. She told nino Carlitos that she called her sister and this made him mad. He dump out his lemonade and poured two cups up licker. Then he went and yelled at the neighbor to not let Virginia use her phone anymore.

Nino Carlitos left to go to town. Virginia spent the day watching movies with the boys. They laid in the bed cuddling all day. She loves those boys like they are family to her.

Nino carlitos has been drinking. The doctorita is not home to stophim. He is trying to get into Virginia's room. she wouldn't let him in so when he went to get key she left. she went to the neighbors house and stayed there.

Virginia writes poetry in her journal. She keeps this journal hidden under the fridge. She writes poetry about her dreams and what she wants her life to be like.

virginia plans to leave the doctoritas home. Antonio the boy she likes and really loves wants her to escape with him. she plans on doing this but she was caught by the doctorita. she came home early one day when she thought she wouldn't be home until one o clock.

Antonio told Virginia that she was his first kiss. This made her very happy.
She also informed him that he was her first kiss.

A boy name Antonio came to see Virginia. He had his boom box and he was in the street playing romantic music. The songs he was playing from him to her just melted her heart. The songs said everything she ever wanted to here from anyone.

Virginia talks about how she has to avoid Nino Carlitos. She does not like that he has started drinking a lot. He tries to touch her he tells her how pretty and good looking she is. She does not like how he has started acting towards her. She says it's tiring always being on guard and making sure she is never alone with him.

Nino Carlitos came home drunk. He called virginia a longa. This is a racial slur against her kind. Nino Carlitos has never called her this before. She became furious for the rest of the night.

virginia talks about the day of dead. She does not like the day of dead. She talks about how they go to a cemetery. She says her mom gets drunk and cries about her dead children.

Virginia is trying to be like the mestiza ladies. she wants to be like the pretty skinny mestiza women. She does the exercises from the books that show you how to get and maintain a good body. She knows the doctorita is jealous of her. This just makes Virginia try even harder to change her body.

Virginia accidently broke a drawer. She wasn't supposed to be in the drawer in the first place so she had to cover up what she had done. She wrecked the whole house and threw everything everywhere. Then she tied herself up to the bed post and said that hey had been robbed and they tied her up.

Virginia is thinking about calling her sister. She second guesses her self when she wonder if her father would make her leave and come back home. She doesn't want to live with them in that dirty house with no tv and nothing to do. She fears of never seeing nino carlitos again and he calls her his daughter and the boys love her more than anything.

The doctorita has been in a bad mood for the past week. Her and Nino Carlitos got into and argument. He called her fat and lazy. Then he said he should have married his ex girlfriend and it made her upset.

Virginia's sister visited her. They had a good time together and spent a good week with each other. The Doctorita treated her and her sister really good this week. The Doctorita made a good impression on her sister.

Virginia is in back in her old family town. She sneaks away from the Doctoritas family and sneaks back to her old house. she found a letter from her older sister. The letter had her number on it telling Virginia if she ever found it to call her.

Virginia is so eager to learn. It was a saturday when the whole family but her left the house. She took the doctoritas key to the science lab. When they left she went in the lab a did an experiment. She did a erupting volcano and she pretended to be a genius scientist who was kidnapped and had to sneak and perform a vital experiment.

Virginia talks about her main reason for loving the show MacGyver. She likes him because he freed some slaves. She feels like she is a slave in a way. she wishes he could come free her. she wishes he would take her and they could go get married.

Virginia wants to learn how to read. She ask the Doctorita to teach her. The Doctorita just calls her a stupid longa and say "I don't have time for that". Then Virginia ask Nino Carlitos to teach her. He agrees to teach her.

Virginia talks about her favorite tv show called Macgyver. When no one is home she takes the remota and watches her favorite show. She daydreams of him dancing with her and them being together.

The Doctorita has had another baby whose name is Andresito. He calls Virginia mama. He calls her this because he spends so much time with her. She stayed strapped to her back for the whole first year of his life.

Virginia has been with the Doctoritas family for 3 years now. They live in a town called Kunu Yaku. She has settled into the rhythm of doing her chores and doing them well.
