This was a great book. A very readable look at a period of history too often defined by dull lists. The underdogs-versus-Nazis theme feels very appropriate to the present day. Many thanks to the author for the advance review copy.

Great so far. I'm not 100 percent in agreement with his conclusions but it's the most detail I've ever seen on the tragedy of the Weimar Republic.

William is on page 237 of 462 of The Fast Times of Albert Champion: From Record-Setting Racer to Dashing Tycoon, An Untold Story of Speed, Success, and Betrayal

This book startes really strong but has started to bog down once the narrative shifts from extended flashback in France to the present-day United States of 1903. I really hope it picks up again, but at this point it reads as though it was an article fleshed out into a book.

Last night I started The Fast Times of Albert Champion and it's amazing. I'm only at the beginning, but I feel totally immersed in La Belle Époque. I'm excited to see how Nye handles the later parts of Champion's life.
