Wow! This novel is a wild rollercoaster of emotions and events so far. I feel for Jane, but also admire her so much for sticking with her convictions.

I read “If it Bleeds” and “The Life of Chuck”, both are great stories! “If it Bleeds” is Holly’s sequel to The Outsider and a good Stephen King short story, even set in recent years. “Life of Chuck” is a fantastic short story; unique for King but still very King. However, I’m ready for other stories and won’t be finishing the anthology at this time.

I picked this back up after reading Holly. I needed something lighter and magical than another Stephen King story. Im loving these stories!

Stephen King Summer is in full swing! I’m behind in the sense that I missed the book club meeting live for Holly, buuuut it feels better that I can read it at an easier pace now instead of trying to catch up. It does have a very crime-thriller feel but it also still does feel like SK’s brand of Horror.

Finally finished “If It Bleeds” last night! It was great! I think it helped to have the context of The Outsider storyline from the TV show. Moving on to Holly the novel now!

Starting with the title story to try and learn more about Holly before reading the novel Holly.

Emma’s thoughts on pocket watches: “A far less romantic world we would have if no one dared carry. A beautiful pocket watch. The click when it opens. The snap when it shuts. The tick tock of mechanisms in between. I believe I shall write an ode.” (Kindle page 83)

It’s actually just not time. I really want to read “The Boys” but I’ll have to pick it up another day.

To be honest, the title of this book makes me nervous. I’m not a per-hungry person. I’m barely motivated by money. But. I love words and I have a dream and Amy Suto is defining ”power” as “the ability to [my] life (and someone else’s!) with a book” (26). My goal is to read a chapter a day!

Borrowed this from my friend Rob YEARS ago! It’s finally time to read it.

WEEK 9 reading is complete! I may actually get to a task this week!

Finished reading WEEK 7! Gotta do some of the journaling prompts and pick a task or two.
