There’s so much working through emotions and thinking in circles and repetitive self-deprecation that I’m genuinely a little annoyed with it as much as I do love this story. Also it feels a little messily put together like there needed to be a finer tooth comb.

Okay she’s kinda a dick but y’all should be listening to Sheridan because she’s not wrong. You’re out there in the care of two people maybe five years older who DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. There’s no acceptable or sane reason to do anything they’re telling you to. The enemy IS Hannah’s dad and the state systems that allow this.

Dear god this pace is slow

God I adore these characters and their intricate and fucked up relationships and entanglements but god this plot largely annoys or bores me. I care about their personal shit. This lets create a world stuff seems so… pointless?

I kind of wish these interludes were done in third person so there’s a bigger difference between the predominant character of the section and the other POVs we hop into. I love the perspective we get, but it throws me off every time not being reintroduced to the POV we were interluding from.

Kosara is so naive and trusts so easy I’m getting annoyed.

This is far sillier than I expected and I dig it. I do not dig the fact that we’re supposed to be devastated about who betrayed Kosara when Kosara has said time and again they’re not friends and every interaction with said person has been shady as hell. No real showing of built relationships here.

I cannot tell if I dislike this so much because Quentin is unlikable or because the author is. Q’s negative characteristics are clearly intentionally being played up but like… ugh. I’m a sentence away from “she breasted boobily” and I’m losing it.

This is a mix between Walden and literary criticism…. I’m not a fan. I’m bored.

Something about these books makes them impossible for me to talk about them. I can’t put words to it. I just feel it so deeply.

I’m not not enjoying this book but my god how am I only just past half through it??? What can possibly happen for the next 47%???
