I don’t understand 70% of what he’s saying at any given time, but that occasional 30% when I do is… quite mind-boggling I’ll admit

IT TOOK ME A WHOLE HOUR TO READ 12 PAGES OF THIS. ONE WHOLE HOUR. (But no regrets)

Two impressions from these 12 pages so far:

1 - This man is on Humbert Humbert’s level in his usage of esoteric vocabulary, except you can’t just ignore the big words and make sense from the context lest you risk understanding nothing from that point on…
2 - This man does not like America or Americans.

I reaaalllllyyy wanna dnf this but this godforsaken book is so renowned and has so many good reviews. I know it won’t take long to finish in that case but then again It’s becoming so insufferable to continue reading this.. FFS WHERE ARE THE GOOD BOOKS
