The Urge to DNF is 📈

I don't know if it's just me, but the prose is so flowery. I'm rolling my eyes every few pages, the high-jargon Yo Mama jokes are so cringe 😩

The Tennis Match: I'm in tears 🤣🤣

I can sense this parallel thing going on between Darrow on one hand and Ephraim on the other hand, and like I love them both dearly, so I hope Pierce Brown isn't after my vital organs

This is, by far, one of the coolest book I've ever read. My brain is whirring like an overheated laptop, in a good way tho.

The way they're all acting high and mighty, and completely prejudiced towards the middle-class is making me 🤏🏼 close to DNF-ing this book.

I had forgotten how much the information/narration is dumbed down in YA 😂

These Asian authors don't know moderation, istg. They'll either write a story that's so bereft of emotion that it feels like a coconut husk, or they'll write a story so gut-wrenching you're one step away from making a river of tears. There's no in-between.

All this racism, and fight for establishing a pseudo-democratic system to satiate desire for power feels so relevant right now 😂
