Sam Wilson I adore you

I need you to understand that there are moments in this book that are deeply entertaining it's just that they're interspersed between loooooong moments that bore me to tears.

I fully admit to dozing off for a bit, and I'm not rewinding

The subject matter is interesting, but the way this is written makes it very difficult to listen to. I feel like it's taking me a long time to get into it and I can only listen to it in small chunks

I'm a sucker for a good western, and Pearls by Beth Revis and Gold in the Roots of the Grass by Marissa Meyer scratched that itch perfectly. The Legendary Garrett Girls read like a Louis Lamour book if his main characters had been women, and I related to Tony in The Color of the Sky since I am also a Bessie Coleman fangirl. Bonnie and Clyde was a nice addition, with a bank robber as promised on the front cover.

The Journey, as its author noted, was definitely inspired by Julie of the Wolves. For the nostalgia alone I like it, but it was a good story in it's own right, evoking a land that feels impossibly real

I enjoyed the first story in this anthology, Mother Carey's Table. I love a good pirate story, and this one didn't disappoint with its nice mix of sailor mythology and nautical lore.
