Chp18: new tomen js Gigi brush, more fitting then a perfume i don’t remember being mentioned. The ghost is grandpa, lame. The Festival, the big damn kiss i don’t care about. Jake was more into the fatherhood then the girl. Sadie tells Jake everything. Ma is proud ugh

Chp17: its all her magic (knew it) some reason everybody believes its correct, despite all the failures, and put all eggs in this basket on the last day. Sadie can’t miss the festival and will make her brother join her at the booth his death curse will take him (wtf) & its kinda lame everything is happening on harvest day like a cheesy prom movie. Also Sadie really is addicted to truth magic

Chp16: mom spell. Sadie’s totem is something I don’t remember her using once and there’s something that could be easily replaceable after the spell. Say he thinks about pecan pie instead of being anxious about anything else during the spell Didn’t work. Mom says she didn’t regret meeting Jillian because she got kids she never got a raise out of it.

Chp15: everybody is moving back at once, Sadie lives giving ppl truth potions, i knew it and talk with ma & i had 2 guess on what Gigi’s letter meant and it wasn’t suicide

Chp14: kinda wasted time, went to friends before family over the balance curse, mysterious spirit sho she cant take a guess of who it is. Failing at spells. Suicide attempt to take Seths place. Seth calls Jake and he confesses love and girlfriends behavior

Chp13: Sadie tries a spell for Seth to talk with Gigi, didn’t work. Not bonding with mom. Still not returning Jake’s dog. Funeral day, whole family.

Chp12: mom is back has a 7 yr old. It’s Seth & his magic is a nosy neighbors wet dream.

Chp11: After Gigi. Ppls condolences. Get that suffering olympics debate but, but girl your feelings are valid your actions not. Finds funeral instructions and letters, her’s says there is a loophole (weird she doesn’t put any blame on her rapist father for her circumstances)

Chp10: Meet finance at farmers market, Gigi dies at home

Chp9: Sadie, Seth and r go to a haunted house for flower. Sadie and Seth do spell, helps Gigi comfort. Anyway Jake drops a ball and OMG seriously?! Your cheating, flat out. Don’t blame Sadie for not giving you time to spit it out, your messages to her since met her was trying to rekindle your high school relationship

Chp8:family gathering. Jake is there. Jake tries to talk Sadie later but she is not listening she just thought of a flower that could save Gigi

Chp07: talk with Jake, sib talk (i get where Seth is coming from), at the cafe everybody wants Sadie to explore business opportunities she is to anxious to try, aunt one is here

Chp06:Seth is home and Grama Gigi drops an entire season of family secrets in one sitting

Chp05: church Jake is there, Gigi invites him to dinner. Yeah its his dog (wild you dognapped girl) dinner,BFF is there. Jake asked the wrong person about Seth. Getting control freak in the water. Come on Gigi!!

Chp03: tea reading flashback and Seth, soda shop friends, kinda wild renaming a collard puppy you just found - no number so you think it’s not worth trying to find their owners? And No Gigi!

Chp01: anxious & troubled jinxed FL with a fun grandma and friend and someone just walked back into town

Chp25: & our strong female lead is captured in 40 seconds when the MML back is turned 🙄 maybe if Lay started training at 6 she would be a better fighter. Seems she can only win when she needs to prove a point to Thane not when she needs to protect herself

Cho25: why do you meed to “assure” Thane that Ren’s kiss was unexpected? And also sounds like Novak was just a childhood crush not a lost boyfriend. And god Lay Thane killed his bff and father 2 months ago but you can’t share Novak’s from 2 years ago i can already tell its a unintentionally your fault (maybe learn to use your magic & prevent it from happening again).

Chp25 Thane Pov: his tent, change reward to a ? For a ? Thing, Lay backs out because she can’t talk about Novak (she doesn’t think about him either) Thane makes a big confession and Lays says “but according to elven law” and i’m like you haven’t even lived here 4 8 weeks yet wdym grew up with humans Lay? & no history of patricide in Thanes family? A royal family?

Chp24: lay “lost” the fight because she dropped the sword but she won because she had the better blow. And now all the men accept her as one of them 🙄 and Thane has to end on a “she’s mine” to his men

Chp24: so lay needs an award to do something she said she was fully capable of last chapter like a child 🙄

Chp24: so thane asks her to fight one of his soldiers to 1. Prove she’s a good fighter as any of his soldiers 2. Train, because she has not done this once since the book started. And her first reaction is kind of confusion and then like backing down and apprehension because she’s like I know, I’m the strongest in my village, but I never fought else before. Last chp, she said she was as good as any of them

Chp24: OMG is this plot progression! So all Lay had to do was say sorry to Thane for us to unlock her bg, open dialogue with Piper, get Tif out of her bedroom and head into battle(still untrained in magic) to observe with talon who is there out of spite

Chp23: private dance. Lay says sorry. Says she wants to fight b/c she is as good as any solider even though she privately admits she has never fought in battle, and then Thane says she can’t go because he can’t count on her to fight well and to obey him. Then they do the big festival dance and right on queue when all the sappy scenes are over the pale ones attack, so nice in the wait until our leads bond

Chp23: Thane does the whole “don’t tough my mate” thing and thats fine but then Lay just runs to him to hold onto him like some 80’s male fantasy book cover because she was so incapable of saving herself from a mob -and i’m wondering why her instincts to save herself are so bad when she has been training her who life to be a fighter and pride to not seem like she wants to be Thanes mate has gone

Chp22: its the festival she only is on good terms with Thanes boys. Talon and Queen just out her identity before a whole mob so they will swarm her as if Lay isn’t their greatest weapon against the pale ones and keeping her safe isn’t a priority for them as regents.

Chp22: festival is here. Lay is upset Thane didn’t pick her up because he is too busy being a king at the festival.

Chp21:pov Thane. Are there any women Thane respects because Lay being the only girl he thinks is cool kinda annoys me. Also the Hot Mean Girls vs Stubborn Tomboy thing is still going. Then he calls Lay selfish because she wants to meet an enemy to end their mate bond instead of focusing on destroying the void or just marry him so the elf’s don’t lose their king

Chp20: so its the elf games. Another “not like other girls chp” then Lay thinks there is no way Thane would join because she thinks he would see it beneath him, but Thane is a super informal king so IDK why she is so surprise he does. And then she just cheers for the him and is all “why i do that i hate him” ugh
