I’m guessing this came before Lost Souls? Either that, or the first story is just set before the novel, regardless of when each was written. Ghost and Steve are back in “Angels.” Steve’s in much better, pre-Lost Souls shape. I was so pumped to rediscover them!

I feel for Nothing’s innocence lost. And Ghost is incredibly endearing. I wish I had a friend like Ghost, spooky as he is. But there’s something in Christian’s extreme emotional fatigue with the world, that just hits different, rereading as an adult.

Every bit as epic as I remembered. Read this one many, many years ago.

I only just started, and already, the narrator has made disparaging comments about the weight of two female characters (both of them heavier). Frustrating as a plus-size reader. I’m motivated to dislike the protagonist, because she seems very judgmental.

Obviously it’s compelling if I read this far. It hasn’t yet gotten dark enough that I feel a need to DNF. But it might be getting there? Definitely not the most uplifting thing to read, especially if you’re already kinda down. But we’ll see.

Given the trigger warnings I just encountered on Goodreads, we’ll see how far I get. It does feel like a very risky book. It could be misinterpreted as dystopian take on the supposed “LGBTQIA Agenda” (which I know isn’t a thing). Tho other reviews say the end twist negates this?

Okay I gotta get some sleep LOL!!! So, so good.

I had intended to just read a smidge before bed. At first, I thought, meh, not bad. Then, it really got going, and I found myself laughing out loud at bits of dialogue. It’s VERY rare that a book actually makes me laugh. And I got a bit choked up once or twice. The characters leap off the page.

I’m not sure when I started reading, exactly. Is it me, or has it been a bit since Iron Flame? I think I expected at least a little recap. Had to look up a spoiler-heavy article online. THEN I got more invested. Enjoying it so far!!!

My favorite detail from this bit was the image of someone having eyes the color of honey at the very bottom of the jar.

Just started! Found it in the new books section of the library. Very good so far. I especially love the details just before each chapter begins, where the author has included bits of a guide to tea leaf reading.

So I noticed book 3 in this series, The Christmas Tree Farm, I think, was temporarily on a decent discount on Amazon, and decided to pick up both last night. I had earlier gotten The Pumpkin Spice Cafe for Kindle, since there were a gazillion holds at the library this fall. Really good so far!!!

SO GOOD!!! Wish I had longer to read tonight, but I need some sleep.
