Highly readable. He's like the Brazilian Oscar Wilde in terms of style

do audiobooks count..?

Heard the authors of the book and discussions of the study on a couple of Derek Thompson Plain English podcast and they've got such soothing voices to listen to.

Social fitness!! this actually might be better as a real book bc its got a lot of questions and exercises included for ~self reflection~

Not gonna finish this before the Libby loan expires. Supremely interesting but very dense. Look forward to revisiting in the future

This is a book of confirmation bias for me, which I ought to be wary of. It's not the most empirically thorough book, and basically uses only the good stories of how people act during disasters to say that's how most people act.

Reads a little like David Graeber to me, not comprehensive and thorough with its theories, but discusses a lot of varied and interesting ideas (Dorothy Day+Catholic Worker, anarchism, etc.)

Back on this... some chapters hitting, others very much not hitting. hooks isn't a convincing writer but she writes beautifully. When I agree with what she's saying i find myself nodding and underlining profusely, when I do not yet agree, I find myself saying "you can't just assert that without evidence!!"

Kevin Doherty is on page 75 of 359 of Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI
Heard the author on a podcast and found myself telling multiple people about it. Realized I should probably read it too so i can stop my habit of telling people about books that I haven't read.

So far, very readable history book. Author uses excellent verbs

A timely find after volunteering. The man's brother was a salesman who changed careers and became a nurse...interesting...
