A talkie version of Lydia D or a brazenly tangential version off V. Wolfe? A series of monologues thinly veiled as asides. Hilarious actually. Embodied in the smirkiest way. I loved it but I was also worn out. But I’m there. I’m ready to read the next book.

Her intelligence and attraction to the ineffable and transcendent is clear… but her privilege (and transparency about her privilege) makes her findings feel…false. The meandering feels neither rigorous nor surprising… it’s the uncanny valley. Not real enough, not unreal enough…
