Please 2026, let this next book actually be something worthwhile.

Definitely the book to start on Christmas, what better to have sitting out on the side table...

I went on an organizational kick - read books from my to-read list, in order, got it down to a reasonable, achievable size... and then I got a box of books in the mail, a heap of random birthday gifts, and all my library holds came in within days of each other. I take this as a sign it's time to abandon organization and just grab the tastiest books from the overflowing buffet.

I have no idea how this ended up on my list, but I'll chalk it up to the children's books discussion.

Gonna be reading this forever.

Perhaps not as polished as his previous works, but interesting nonetheless. I quite enjoyed the arguments against dichotomies.

As soon as I saw 'tulip' I thought, will this compare in any way to the marvelous apocrypha I read so many years ago? It did not.

Having grown up without most standard American mythology, I'm quite enjoying the analysis of Johnny Appleseed. Otherwise not sure how I feel about the book yet.

Already had to replenish my stock of post-it flags.

Took a book break (film fest, garden, various other obligations). But I plan on spending the greater part of winter curled up in the library chair.

Got a box of books in the mail from a good friend. Not complaining! Random book shelf restocking is now complete.
