I’m intrigued, hopeful, ready to hop on this ride!

Very interesting story. Relatable characters, at least for a Jewish girl born in 1962 to a father who regularly gave a false name to restaurant hostesses. My young self never got a reasonable answer as to why. So, I got this narrative. However, 2/3 in, the story’s footprints began to vanish, as if a cold wind blew its marks away. By the ending chapters, I no longer cared about the characters or even the story.

Going well. Learning a lot. Not disappointed, but understanding other reviewers that expressed opinions that this book doesn’t read like a novel, and has a thin if nearly absent plot. I know one thing for sure: I will forevermore enjoy museum visits with more immersion and appreciation.

Not loving it. I feel little for the characters, both past and present. It took too long to get to an important twist, and I’m finding myself 1/3 way through, skimming pages. ☹️
