Reading like a cringe Wattpad fic so far - in teems of the writing style and dialogue sounding quite wooden. Hopefully some yummy prince love scenes will help me to get through.

Feyre has lost all of her redeeming qualities. She is unlikeable, she has no agency, she complains about the most trivial things and couldn't even be bothered to learn the name of her fiancee's friends which seems incredibly heartless and ungrateful. I understand that she is very traumatised, but I struggle with the fact that I am not rooting for her one little bit.

Several mistakes in the text so far sadly. Writing style has potential but isn't quite there yet. Story is interesting enough.

Eek! A consistency error. Phillipa wrote that Jane Seymour's motto was "The most happy". This is incorrect - that was actually Anne Boleyn's motto, very fitting with her fiery and witty caricature. Jane Seymour's motto was "Bound to obey and serve". I hate to be pedantic, but if I know this after reading a few Tudor books and watching a few Tudor shows...it's just definitely frustrating, anyway.

Going good so far, a beautiful story though the prose is a bit sticky at times.

I'd seen this book everywhere so thought I had to give it a try. So far I am utterly disappointed by a simplistic, unpleasant writing style. I like modern books to still feel like literature so this is a dealbreaker for me - but I'll keep reading.

The author has a delicious writing style, with fun word play and vivid imagery to keep you reading even if you know you shouldn't.
