there’s a few too-sweet (forgive me) moments in the resolution that pull this down for me but otherwise this pushes a lot of my buttons, namely
1) made me horny (pleaseeeeee sandwich me between Ser Voyne and Gideon Nav)
2) reminded me of Crossed
3) nun life
Characteristics that I don’t normally find together.

I’m so miserable I hate this stupid book

This concept is a little corny and overdone and I have a bone to pick with the descriptions of an old woman’s body but that said, I am pretty creeped. Pretty spooked. This is engaging my fight or flight response.

This kicks fucking ass. Other “extreme” and “transgressive” horror of the last few years that has seen a lot more popularity WISHES.

This is way less silly and more upsetting than I expected. jfc it is so chilling how plausible it all is, how casually the most horrifying jaw droppers are tossed out

Cannot overstate how right everyone was about this book, it is SO good

So far, my desire to find out what happens is locked in battle with my distaste for all the racist caricatures. I mean maybe they’ll be subverted? But writing them straightforward for even the first half of the book is a lot.

I’m enjoying this a lot so far but fair warning it is incredibly triggering for ED
