This book was giving Hunger Games for sure. I was entertained throughout, however, and now I have to read book 2.

I loved this fictional narrative! It kept me intrigued the whole way through. May be a fav!

This is a book you will want a physical copy of so that you can annotate and reread to capture the beautifully written prose.

I started out LOVING this book….however, about 2/3 of the way in I was annoyed at how unbelievable it became. In what world does a broke orphan give away a million dollar painting, and all the mishaps that magically work out for everyone in the end…..eye roll. Also, enough with the metaphors….you are doing too much!

Took awhile to get interested in the characters, but once I did I was hooked!

Absolutely gutted. Heart wrenching.

Would not recommend. It’s started out interesting but about 50% of the way through I seriously considered quitting. Sooo many themes and annoying “poetic” overdone descriptions. Luckily, it’s a short book because it was not worth finishing.

Fast read. Suspend all your beliefs and you can get on board with this one. Twisty, with an eye roll factor of 1000

So incredibly sad. Grab your tissues. It’s a cry fest for sure. I was so invested in the characters and their stories.

Quick read. Funny. Sad. Thought provoking. Those of us with grown children will be able to relate 🥹

I like it! I thought I would be weirded out by a talking octopus but it’s quite charming
