Me every September and October: “why read new books when I can just reread old Stephen King”

The only tradwife influencer book I’ve read this year that I’ve really liked 🧟‍♀️

Like a perimenopausal I Know What You Did Last Summer meets Sylvia Plath meets I’ll Be Gone in the Dark.

Gets better every time I read it & this has to be read number 20 or so.

So far it’s just making me want to reread Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead. 🦌

How is it that someone who habitually clogs this many toilets doesn’t know where the water shut off valve is on a toilet.

Ok but why do straight men have to write about women like this.

How long are we going to spend describing a house 🫥

Turns out I love unstable narrators as long as that instability doesn’t come in the form of narcissistic self-pitying navel gazing.

Glad I gave this one another shot and got past the insufferable MC & her boring children & husband

Ok fine I’ll reread EVERY Melissa Broder book this week, ok??

Have to read this book every two years or so.

Quick, someone design a better cover for this book

Forever reading books about women at dog parks in the hopes I’ll find another Big Swiss.

I might actually throw up if I keep reading this.

I think I’ve said “UGH!!!” out loud more times than any other book I’ve read.

Started strong but the pacing is…not great.

Whatever happened to the kindle formatting for the arc of this is making it unreadable—I can either read the pdf on my phone 💀 💀 💀 or dnf. choices!!

All of the short chapters ending in cliffhangers are reminding me of reading Goosebumps.

I pay enough attention to pop culture to know that I’m not supposed to like Lena Dunham, but I don’t pay enough attention to pop culture to know exactly why I’m not supposed to like her. Really enjoying not knowing what I’m supposed to hate about her because I’m loving this book.

I’m afraid I’m in the minority in terms of how I feel about this book 🫤

This would be such a better book if the protagonist were anything like a real human instead of a one dimensional walking plot device. 🫤

Ok, if the premise of the book is “stalking victim starts stalking her stalker,” I feel like we should be in “stalked has started stalking” territory when we’re 2/3 of the way through the book.

I might be home with my sick kids for the 13th day in a row, but I’m getting so much reading done.

Hallelujah, a new Laura Sims!! Putting everything on hold to read this.

Yes plz. I love an unhinged obsession. 👀

I love books that make me feel like I’m really existing inside someone else’s brain 🧠

Milk Fed but make it horror 🩸 🍩

The cover of this book is pulling most of the weight tbh

Why aren’t more people talking about this book???
