I can deal with how dark the romance is, I can deal with the SA/murder stuff, but the government-is-involved-in-an-international-satanic-pedo-ring plot is AWFUL.

Like, this is 100% a Q Anon fanfic. The MMC's literally named Z. Almost stopped reading when they say that A-liat lovable actor Tim Banks (yes, seriously) is at this meeting. I'm too far in so I have to keep reading but oh my God kill me now please.

So this book.... It's good, don't get me wrong. But I don't think it's as ~groundbreaking~ as everyone seems to have led me to believe it would be.

Thirty four alien smut books later, I'm back on substantial reading again. And by substantial reading, I mean 800 pages of dragon-filled high fantasy. Beggars and choosers and whatnot.

Okay, battle king Mat is 10,000,000,000% more enjoyable than scumbag Mat, I'm finally seeing why people say he's their favorite character. Also I will heretofore be using the phrase "a kiss and a cuddle" as often as humanely possible.

Couldn't fit it in my last update so:

This book is a goddamn goldmine, I can't imagine why people don't like it (aside from no Perrin POV), we're getting: solid Min screentime, foreshadowed enemies-to-lovers with Siuan, the emancipation of Morgaze, Nynaeve's humbling, depressed Forsaken, IGLOO SEX (!!!!!), and the breaking of the tower? I'm having a great time

Okay so I thought Thom and Elayne were gonna have a cute found family/adopted dad dynamic and that is ... Not what this is. Uhhh

Kinda yuck.


Also, can I just say I love the "travel with the circus to be inconspicuous" fantasy trope? Because I do. So much. Endless entertainment every time.

I'm such a ho for romance and I love Perrin and Faille SO MUCH. There's still 100 pages for Jordan to pull another funky dunk ending but I think this is my favorite book so far.

Perrin, my sweet Iupine child. I find myself about 2000% more hype anytime one of his chapters comes along. A beast, a badass, a big fluffy cinnamon roll.

Additionally: Thom and Elayne my HEART, Avienda x Rand not yet confirmed but so heavily foreshadowed I need a damn flashlight, & Min may be entitled to financial compensation for her severe underutilization these last two books. Also fuck Luc.

This series is 12,000 pages of Rand being 100% certain he's killed the dark one when he just hasn't. Also sensing a pattern in these novels being really really REALLY good until the last 75 pages which just kinda read like bad acid trips with a sword fighting scene.

Just when I'm really excited to see what happens next- Herbert hits me with a two-year time jump. I've loved it the whole time but this is really annoying

So in the two days since whining about my shit attention span I have almost made it halfway through this Very Large book. Aha whoops!!!!!!

Also!!! So good!!! I am loving this so far. In fact, I've spoken so highly of it that my boyfriend who refuses to read anything other than non-fiction about fish and Tolkien has asked to borrow it after I finish. I'll make a fiction reader of him yet

UGH I have been completely unable to focus on reading for the last month and a half. Maybe it’s school, maybe my brain is broken. I saw Dune last night and it inspired me to read the book but I’m so worried my fried brain will be completely unable to stay on track for so long. Bleh. If anyone has any tips when you’ve got readers fatigue, I’d love to hear them.

Seriously, I heard "assassin nuns" and was like, okay probably gonna be a little stupid but pretty fun but ohhhhh boy I was wrong. Can't put it down!!! Ahhhhh!!!!!!!!!

listen listen listen I get that Hobbs probably needs her villain for the final book in this series but can he just DIE already? Jesus Christ he pisses me off.

Also, have you ever cast an actor in ur mind and no matter how many times the author describes that person differently from the actor you just.. can't imagine them any other way? Bc I can't stop seeing Regal as Mason Verger from Hannibal
