This was a gift and is more of a reference book than a read-straight-through book but I have marked half a dozen recipes to start with. The explanations provided will help me adapt the recipes a bit without ruining them. I may not want to buy a dozen new ingredients every time I cook. Planning to try two recipes a week.

Free ebook but requires you read it in their app. May try this later in a better format.

Lots of gems in this book but it's quite a slog to read. Wishing I had sprung for the 2019 paperback edition from the Navigators, with updated language, rather than trying to get through the ebook edition - circa 1864. Wonder who else I know has read one or both of these?

When I read Bowling Alone - published without data from the last couple of decades - I wished there was an update. In many ways, that's what this is. My Kindle edition returned itself to the library last night, alas, but I'm on the list to get it back in about two weeks.

Reading through the Bible quickly has its benefits. Themes and connections that you might miss reading a bit each day have a way of jumping out in a flyover. Some passages, though, are better read more slowly or in smaller doses. But it's a bit numbing to read 25 Psalms or hundreds of proverbs at a go. Heading into the prophets next.

The "Bible in 90 days" experience I spearheaded for the church I was in a decade ago was so meaningful I though it would be a good way to start this decade, too. Here it is Jan 5 and I'm starting Exodus. Using the Bible app, too, which automatically tracks/reminds me of the day's reading.
