ok I’m putting this on pause/soft-DNF because I fear it’s putting me in a slump :/

it sucks investing time into a book expecting it to hook you and it just doesn’t. this has some cringeworthy moments, a confusing and half-baked magic system, and the stakes are nonexistent because I just do not care about the characters. might have to DNF sadly

this is reminding me sooo much of netflix’s SOMETHING VERY BAD IS GOING TO HAPPEN, in the best way
