I'm really enjoying this so far. She is quirky and has nothing to lose in being herself.

Well, it was at 5 stars, but it is dropping. How disappointing.

Feels like I've been listening forever, and he said Chapter 1. What in the world was all that I've heard so far? Ugh

I seriously doubt I can finish this. I don't care about any of the characters. Well, maybe Doc, but that's not enough when you know the plot already. What's the point? To be fair, if I had known it was a fairytale remake, I wouldn't have started. I'm too hard of a sale.. sell? I got excited because of the author and didn't look first.

Going to have to stop this audio book :( the narrator makes the characters sound like uneducated idiots.

Having a tough time with this one. The audio book makes the characters seem silly and simple minded.

I was hoping this would be a fun read. Why does there always have to be a manipulative nasty relative with a single daughter?

A story can stand people unwilling to admit love just so long. I'm almost annoyed to the point of not finishing.

Ugh. I don't know if I'll finish. Misunderstanding and not allowing someone to explain is a lousy plot

This is really slow going. The characters keep everything to themselves. I'm sick to death of people not speaking about anything. It makes one not like a single one of them. There is no intimacy. It's like the mystery is being built on lack of information.

I checked out the audio book and it's horrible. Hattie is self absorbed and the accent makes her sound ignorant. The description of the book is inaccurate. He isn't trying to stay single. He is trying to accommodate spoiled Hattie even at the cost of his career. The reader is one I will avoid in future. DNF! I may read it on my own if I can get that woman's voice out of my head.

DNF I checked out this audio book on hoopla for my drive to work. The reader has the most grating voice. Hattie is completely self absorbed and the voice makes her sound ignorant to boot. I think I would like to read it so stopping before she ruins it completely for me.

Not sure how this got on my list to read....I do not have much patience for people who blame themselves for not being able to see the future. Even less the people blame them too. Annie was running the Boston Marathon when the bombing happened. She was blown up as well as her spectator niece. I guess it was her fault for being a runner. How selfish! Yes, I'm being sarcastic and moving on.

Liked the first one but the second one was so depressing I don't feel like finishing. I don't how people think filling a story with mean people that always get their way can be a love story. It was like Cinderella only there was someone at the ball to expose who she really was. Yeah I'm not finishing.

Gee what a surprise. A wedding night spent in separate rooms. Maybe I've read too many books. Is there really not another story angle that could be used? Maybe I'll come back to this. Right now I'm bored that the plot is all about the awkwardness of the woman. The beginning is heart wrenching and sucked me in but now I just don't care.

Don't know if I can continue. Its so oppressive when an overwhelming evil is the main focus of the story. Its not enjoyable.

Five star so far

A sexless marriage has now been proposed. I am so tired of these. So are they supposed to live like monks? Face a life of loneliness or is adultery just part of the deal? I get that her first husband was a brute. You bury it and move on. I'm taking break from this one.

Hattie is unmarried at 25. It might be because she is so rude to men. Maybe I'll come back to this. I'm thinking I would rather her stay a spinster.

He didn't think she would still want him if she knew everything. He was right. It's not looking like the author is going to have Miss Perfect view herself in an honest way.

This book is stressing out.

It's getting tedious. Female deputy's husband is shot in the back so the town makes her the Marshall. The rest of the deputies quit. The town doesn't support her and threatens to fire her constantly. Never mind that she dresses like a man and wears her hair in a braid all the time. Who wants a cover to actually reflect the story?

No consummation, dumb dumb dumb. Lets see how long I last.
