Very thorough but so far at least, very basic. Hoping it goes deeper

Getting better. Earlier chapters were introductory and elementary. Now he's really getting down to business.

Very thorough, yet repetitive and mostly familiar concepts. Hoping for more relevant/new info as I get further into it.

Not sure I'm gonna finish it. Reads like a girly chick-flick apocalypse story that just hasn't grabbed me. Breezy and superficial with occasionally luminous prose, but no action and no real problems. It just ambles along and I prefer books that have something actually happen in them. I'll probably throw this fish back in the water, even though I'm a third into it.

Fun book about the value of reading great books

A great textbook on biblical manhood.

A bit slow and tedious. But it won some awards so I'll give it some more time

Very thorough treatise on the 20 manly virtues listed in a couple of Paul's letters. This book came out of the Promise Keepers movement of the 1990s that stressed men growing up and doing good based on biblical character traits.

Fast paced action and well written, with believable characters. Great world building, too

Deep stuff, so I'm taking it slow as supplement to morning Bible reading

Still liking it a lot. Well done and a great basic introduction to a subject most probably don't even believe in, but my personal experience as a lay "exorcist" negates that contention.🫪

Had lots of time to read more in it on recent plane trips. Pretty well done and interesting.

I'm taking it slow and reading it as part of morning devotional. Very profound and not to be rushed.

So much fun to read. He writes like he talks. Direct, insightful, feisty and sarcastic.

A reread after 50 years or so. Grabbed it off the shelf on a whim wanting something different for some long plane flights. I barely remember the story that I read (or thought I'd read) when a senior in high school or early college. Very intriguing. I've read have a dozen Amblers and all have been fascinating.
