Wrapping things up with the section on coloring comics. I'm starting to notice the questions I had when I started reading, unsure if they were covered. I'll need to re-read some parts to be sure.

Intermittent reading.

Good--possibly great--stuff within! The cover *still* gets me, though. Don't wanna be shallow, but I refuse to be seen reading this book in public.

Wrapping up chapter 10 after taking a little time off for other, less challenging reading.

I'm of two minds about this book. On one hand, there's interesting historical information I didn't previously know. On the other, I have many times so far found either outright mistakes or inaccurate research.

That concerns me because Gonzalez-Wippler is an anthropologist--as is fairly necessary for this book--yet she still does this? I could understand these as accidents of a laymen, but now I'm just confused.

Oh, how delighted I was to find this! If you are working through Wheelock's Latin, you're going to want this great companion.

Oh my god. No cover is pictured here, and that's a very good thing. Got this copy cheap through Thrift Books and was expecting the original "self help" style cover from the original '81 version. Instead I got this atrocious, creepy digital art of a dead-eyed middle management white guy standing on the world in a polo shirt and tap pants while some non-descript meteor (or alien spacecraft, perhaps?) zips by. WTF?

This book comes at the perfect time.

Not all of us have a hard time discussing race and racism, but that doesn't mean we're free of either. This book is aimed at white folks who, like me, are progressive and wouldn't ever support racism, yet still have work to do rooting out the many little acts and ideas that are derived from a lifelong exposure to a culture deeply entrenched in race issues.

A read for us all.

So many tabbed pages! Great info here.
It feels very much like a homebrew type of book you'd get if you asked a friend to detail how this program works (as opposed to a seasoned tech writer), but maybe that's just what we need here. Manga Studio is expressly for the self-pub, indie comic guy (ahem, me) so who better to explain things than a chilled out friend who wants to show you some cool stuff?

Starting again after I lost my original copy in the move. :'(

Moving on, however, and feeling quite confident (especially because I also have the workbook this time around!)

Though this book reads like a self-published work, the information is more than enough to make me love it! So many post-it tabs already!

This has become my work ouch break book. At 20 min per session, reading is slow going (but still enthralling! So many tabs in this copy noting memorable, quotable, and important pieces!)

Wow! What can be said about this book? I find myself at every turn of the page learning something I wish I'd known for years.

Went back and added colored tabs to the many pieces I wanted to remember. I wasn't initially going to do that, but since I've referenced it several times already, it's definitely the best way to go.

Amazing read! Why did I take so long to start this book?

Now we're getting to the good stuff--distractions that stand in the way of working on the *extremely* time consuming process of comic creation. This I can use!

Ooh, just hit a patch of shameless bravado. Not really my thing.

This definitely reads like a blog with lots of asides and personal tales, but that actually makes it quite likeable and interesting. I keep thinking I'll just skip ahead to the advice but end up getting invested in the stories anyway.

Slow going on this one (mostly because I'm so busy and also reading other books at the same time). The herb section does have some unique information, though I can definitely do without the culinary uses.

This is my "sometimes" book. I don't pick it up often, but it's nearby if I decide to. I haven't grown much more enthusiastic about it, though. Lists of deities alongside other associations. Hmmm...this does not bode well.
