The constantly political digs are really distracting.

Trying to ignore the sneaked in political digs. Captivating story even if it does feel a bit recycled. (Carrie, Stranger Things, etc)

You know, some say Mr. King had lost his touch. As an avid reader of his work, I would have had to agree... that is until I started reading the Institute. Unlike some of his darker works, in this one the "monsters" are people. Ain't that the truth...

King's story-weaving is in full glory. Feeling Stand By Me vibes with the character development and scene setting. I'm loving it.

Sweet and touching but couldn't finish it.

Simple and easy to follow but emotive and sweet.

It's been fun but I am ready for this to wrap up.

I used to wonder how someone could "read" multiple books at the same time. But then I bought Pax because I love foxes and children's simple allegorical stories. Now this is the 3rd book I am reading at the same time. This one is quickly pushing up in priority.

I keep wanting to give up but then I read some more and can't put it down.

Middle parts moved quickly which kept me interested. Once they got on the road I enjoyed the story more. Sad to watch them get sicker and sicker. Damn you Craddock.

I'm into it though I dislike Jude, the MC, very much, I'm also wondering why does it have to be so g-d long... I'm not ready to make this kind of time commitment to a book! Also, very Stephen King reminiscent. I'm wondering how much his son read his work because it's everywhere. That's a good thing and a bad thing.

Took me a bit to get acclimated to the interview style writing, but I like Daisy and hearing about her development as a singer/artist. Billy sucks.

Love the main character and the way she experiences paranoia. The tension between her and Miles makes me go, "Oooh! They like each other, and he might be crazy too..."

What kind of sicko actually chooses to read this kind of stuff? I deeply regret starting this book, because it is so uncomfortably disturbing due to it being a real story and not something made up for entertainment. I don't want to keep reading it... but I can't stop.

If I didn't have to sleep, I would never put it down. Damn you Theo, you wimp.

Long and winding road. I'm on for the ride and then I get bored. Definitely not "Rebecca"-level suspense. Kinda ready for it to be over.

So much dysfunction. No one believes her, but I do. I am totally invested in her marriage. Girl stop drinking so you can get your husband and kid back, WTH... Stay AWAY from David.

Struggling. The story is interesting but something is flat and I'm considering just putting it down and giving up.

After devouring 4 books this week, I'm like, ok when this next one is done I'm totally gonna take a break. 5 pages later, I'm looking at my Goodreads lists and saying, hmm, which one is next.

As an ex-San Franciscian who worked in the tech industry and wrote code, a story about special books with magic meaning that can only be deciphered with computers is right up my ally. Loving the plot more than anything so far.

Oh to fall in love for the first time all over again.
