I enjoyed, but the writing and story seemed a bit rushed. I read everything Jenny Colgan writes. This just wasn’t my favorite.
The description made it sound like Essie and Janey were working on the cottage together- but they weren’t. Even the description seemed rushed.

Started slow, but developed steadily. I loved it! I loved Jasper and Chloe. I was definitely rooting for both of them. Catherine, I still haven’t forgiven her, but my heart broke for their tragic relationship.

It started slow, but I am totally in now! It’s made me tear up twice so far…

I really enjoy Ann Cleeves- so I was excited to read her first novel. The birdwatching was not really interesting for me, but Cleeve’s writing style kept me interested. I did like some of the characters- especially Molly.
The ending was a bit awkward and wrapped up too abruptly.

Are some of the characters from the garden of small beginnings, too?

I hate the Leonard parts, soooo boring! And I am getting tired of the Birdie parts, too. This story needs to get moving!

4 stars. It’s nice to have Jimmy back! Although I am not a fan of Willow. She has no personality.
Miles was a great character.

I don’t l like Willow. She doesn’t seem to have any personality. What does Jimmy see in her? I so DON’T get it.
This is my first Shetland book. I’ve only watched the series- and I adore it, but have missed Jimmy since he left the series so I was excited to read about him in this new book.

Ugg. It’s so boring!
