Whoops, I started another book. It's really great so far. It's hard to find personal psychology books that aren't condescending or overly positive.

Slowly chipping away at this one, it's not a long book but I'm trying to slow down and really appreciate it. It was a poor choice to pick for a bedtime book, but I have little other time for reading so I'm making due

Coming off of reading all the Murderbots in a row to this gave me whiplash in the best way. The prose is exquisite without being overbearing. It's very early in the book and I already feel like it broke my heart three times

When I distill it down to tell people about the book, all of the insights from seem remarkably superficial and trite. But what makes this different from most self help books, is the way it brings the reader through the argument for these positions. Rather than asserting simple catch phrases, you're brought into a thought process that you begin to apply to your own experiences.

I have added another book to the six I am already reading. It is about reducing the amount of things you're trying to do.

I hope it works

I'm actually not sure where I am in this book, cause I got the collection and I wanted to count it as 6 books instead of 1. BUT, so far this one is shaping up to be my favorite. The plot has more intrigue AND more opportunity to engage with the themes of freedom and isolation. I'm glad they brought back [SPOILER],I love when [SPOILER] tells Murderbot how to talk to humans.

Pretty good, the stories are hit or miss, but they're short so it's not much to risk

I've been running linux as a hobby for 18 years now and I thought it was time to finally read the manual. You can pick up a lot "on the job" but I didn't realize how much detail I missed.

Got this almost at random, I needed an audio book and this one was available from my Local Library™. It feels like two books, one cozy space adventure where they make veggie lasagna and watch tv together, plus a grim post war thriller. They aren't woven together very well, it oscillates from one to the other. The war drama is very pat, but the wholesome space friends is compelling.

This one is weird, but there's a lot that works. This might be the worst for female representation so far. The handmaiden is the only major lady in the book and every time she's mentioned he talks about how bare and undulating her body is. Maybe it'll get better, but I doubt it.

Im not sure if this book is explaing the mathematics too much or too little, but it is tough to follow what advances are being made by each scientist

I'm a little reticent about this author. He's really carrying a lot of water for these scientists and I'm worried he isn't properly interrogating these claims
