How old is this author? She has to be a toddler. There is no way an adult would write anyone 50+ the way she does. The mom is 51 not 81. There are a lot of 51 year olds still wrestling with teenagers and younger who are their kids not grandkids. Not to mention the very visible 50 plus women out there who are still running the world and looking gorgeous while doing it.

So far this is so freaking boring...and I feel old because the old lady in this book, while still older than me, has a lot of references that fit my age group. And then all the young people in this book are annoying and continue to feel like pointing out my age group is old. yay, my favorite. Hoping her predictions start coming true soon, because right now the 40% of this book that is "character building" IS BORING.

Hermione said it best...the emotional range of a teaspoon. What the hell am I reading? This girl has behaved like a toddler. And having him just cow down and take it...what the hell? These people are 30 THIRTY....what the hell? 10 years of dwelling on the stupidity of drunks? What the hell?

Are upper 20s to mid-thirties women like this now? Like I cannot relate to this age group in books lately. They are all basically morons. Weak. Stupid. Like what has happened?

I really dislike the lead character.... ugh only 19% in...it has to get better, it has to get better...right?

Another one I'm seriously going through with distress. Like why do I continue?

Dear God why is Ella the most abhorrent creature ever. You are 30 years plus... grow up. Is she somehow on meds or something, because I can't figure out why you would be such a mess and have zero regard for anyone other than yourself.

I may have hit the end of this whole Portia Macintosh power read. Like it's okay, but it's getting old. Probably should suspend the binge and read something entirely different.

So far pretty on topic for a Portia Macintosh book, 30 something women acting mostly 20 something. Is 30 the new 20? That would be depressing. Ten more years of stupidity.

1. Love the "you cannot tell people to fuck off to their face." Truth, but also sometimes you must.
2. Eden sucks. She most definitely needs to be told to fuck off. My fiancé paid for this house, get your ass out of the master.

Anyone else want to throw Eddie off a cliff...what a putz. Really not a fan of this 3rd installment. Just like the last book, just way too much chaos and not in a good way.

yup...Breen is unsufferable.....I hate this book so much.

I'll give you the premise is interesting, which is the only reason I am still reading this, but it's still awful.

This is like the author is trying to stay relevant and switched to YA. But the 20 something lead character acts like she's a petulant 12-year-old. It's so clunky and just not fun to read. Keep hoping for some point where this story takes a turn and gets better.

I think after 27 books...I'm finally getting tired of Doreen.

all good and then chapter 29 the lead girl turned into a stubborn dumbass and all i wanted to do was smack her and tell her to quit being so moronic.

Entertaining but this is taking forever. I apparently am very impatient today.

I think with this one I'm finally giving up on McFadden. Does she have interesting plots...yeah. Does she usually pull some random off the wall plot twist at the end...looking forward to it. But honestly... I always hate the main character. They are always so.... stupid. They always, always do the dumbest damn things. I know it's by design to build the plot, but ugh. They are so exceptionally dumb.

I get we must have conflict but why does it always have to be because the woman acts like a stupid brat. Zero willingness to see beyond her own issues. Compounding by her just making shit up in her head rather than ask for what was really going on. And he did nothing compared to the psycho mom. Like wth?

Giving Pearl Harbor the movie vibes...a little bit. we'll see

Ugh...yup stupid female lead. I'm pretty sure my age is why this irritates me. Maybe if I were younger, I'd think she was "brave" and so strong. But nope...

I'm starting to understand why this is YA. The subject matter doesn't make it that. I feel the premise could work in several demographics. Can't quite put my finger on it...the characters are written like the author might be younger? And already getting dumb female vibes out of the main character. I'm so brave and such an awesome hunter...yet I make incredibly stupid decisions. It's eh....

Merit drives me insane...but at the same time I think it's appropriate for her age. At least they're not trying to tell me they're 40 and behaving this way.

Part 2...much better than Part 1. On to Part 3, hoping for a good finish.

yay...another dumb female lead...my favorite...not. This one has an interesting twist...she's also a lush. So drunken and stupid. Exciting.
