So…in the last book I noticed the mafia crime world got fairly complicated, but I could kind of follow it. In this book LORD JESUS I have no idea who’s who except for Vlad…but I’m rolling with it. Religious element in this book which is a change of pace from last.

At the moment this book is ok, but I’m feeling pretty disconnected. Shoshanna is rude to Jake for no reason? I can’t say I have a lot of understanding of her behavior. I mean yes, ideally all people who work at book stores should read but again, he clearly can still do his job and was hired for a reason. Hopefully this improves.

Hmmm was looking forward to Rubin’s story because of how interesting his character was—am a little hesitant to say I’m loving this book. Overwhelmingly positive reviews from people so far made me think it would be another story that I loved but I feel things in Rubin and Jonquille were rushed. I had no idea Jonquille was even one of Whitney’s orphans...wish we got more about her in prior book
