Borderline unable to put this book down.

A good read so far. The switch from first person journaling to third person NASA initially felt strange, but is starting to flow. (Just in time to swap back to journaling.)

Chapters 30-39 were a slog... I understand the need for the exposition, based on the direction the book has taken since, but I can't recall a single instance before, where I had to dice myself through so many chapters this late into a book...

This book perplexes me. -- How can a story all-at-once, show such tenderness as well as such ugliness in humankind. -- How can a story be in one moment, such an emotional weight, and in the next moment, show such hope?

"Why would Amrika be so upset after just one building was attacked? Half our country had crumbled under the Taliban. We were all thinking the same thing. -- If only Amrika would have been upset about that too."

One day, we will remember... We are the world.
