Biding time with an audiobook of mindless, poorly contrived smut while I wait for my Hoopla borrows to reset so I can listen to Sunrise on the Reaping

God this book is so good. I need a miniseries made with Jamie Lee Curtis, like, IMMEDIATELY.

This is well-written and I am very engrossed in the plot and characters, but at 60% the Georgian-era wax ladies still have not yet come to life to murder any men. I hope it delivers on this promise FORTHWITH!

The only non-gay book I'm reading this Pride Month (aside from a volume of poetry that was carried over from May) because my Libby hold came in riiiiight before a road trip and this feels like a PERFECT "read in the car" book

Reading for smutty book club. Considering the only other Katee Robert book I've read (Hunt on Dark Water), for a different book club, was one of the worst books I've ever read, I have low expectations for textual enjoyment, and high expectations for how unhinged the book club convo will get.

It has been a WHILE since a book has made me literally LOL as hard as I just did. My sides hurt!

Read this as an ARC back in 2018 and LOVED it (was even one of my staff picks during my Bookseller v1.0 era).

Six years later, I remember very little of the plot, and the third in the trilogy comes out next month, so I'm due for a reread (and also to actually read the second book, which came out smack dab during These Unprecedented Times™️ when pretty much all I could read were Animorphs and Hannibal Lecter books)

My Dune TBR Bucket 🪱🪣📚 has determined that I finally read this book that I've owned since 9th grade (20 years ago), and I must obey The Bucket.

For about 100+ pages now I've suspected she's been Bruce Willis this entire time.... I know I love a mindless audiobook but dang this is some incredibly tedious storytelling. 🥱

Don't judge meeeee this is my household's new book to read aloud when stoned, needed a palate cleanser after Amish romance. I received it from a wrapped book swap at a bookseller conference I went to for work. It is HILARIOUSLY AWFUL. Bless.

This is legitimately one of the lamest most poorly written books I've ever read.

God I can't believe I'm re-reading this piece of garbage.......
