This book puts me in a bad mood. Why am I still reading it? I should write a memoir if this is all it takes. Her maudlin is draining. She tries to sound erudite but using the word, “quotidian” more than once but yet drops F bombs. So dumb.

I just read a review of this book and it was all I needed to call it quits. How in the world did this book get 4 plus stars?!

I say I don’t like memoirs, but I do like this one. I’ve been highlighting her book references to look up later. In the preface, Owens said out of respect and privacy, she didn’t mention her ex-husband or her kids by name. HOWEVER, this is a deeply personal memoir and to never even mention falling in love, getting married and then divorced from her first husband is nonsensical.

This book is so long! I'm never gonna finish in time for book club.
