I’m about halfway through, I’m still unsure how I feel.

I understand there may be truth in the girls’ experiences, but I’m struggling with the behavior of the parents/adults, the girls naivety in relationships with the male figures. Themes are reflective of the 1950s or 60s than a modern story. Archaic…

At this point, I’m open to where the story goes, but I haven’t fully connected with it yet.

This book gave me a different perspective on love. What was thought to be true ingrained by societal norms. Discipline of a child vs hitting a spouse…humm. The way capitalism and marketing is used to exploit consumers with the need of instant gratification “love”. A very thought provoking book.
