Deuteronomy: Moses summarises everything that is already written in the first four books. Moses passed away at the top of Mount Nebo, taking his first and last glance at the promised land. Nicely written.

Numbers: God is vexed with the Israelites lack of faith and curses them. Moses plays the peacemaker. Prohibits Moses from entering the Holy Land and the Israelites have to stay in the wilderness 40 years.

Levicitus: Basically the Laws of sacrifices, social life etc. with unnecessary repetitions. Commands to stone witches and homosexuals.

Exodus: God rescues the Israelites from Egypt and Moses comes into the scene. But he repeatedly hardens Pharaoh's heart to increase the difficulty.(why?) He commands Sabbath, tabernacle(tedious), priestly robes and animal sacrifices as redemption for man's sins.
GOD confesses that he is a jealous god and wants no other gods to be worshipped. He also urges his sons to break idols and harm other tribes.

Introduction was informative and had a polemical bias as cited by the editors and it serves my purpose. Rating -5

Genesis was all about God urging everyone to "be fruitful and multiply". Worthwhile parts are Adam and Eve, the flood, Abraham's faith, Esau's birthright, Jacob's blessing, Jacob-Rachel-Leah love triangle and Joseph in Egypt.
