God I love these books. So easy and quick to read.

Got about 4 hours to go.

So far, absolutely wonderful! Really having a good time with this one. I have a lot of questions, but they mostly don't matter.

I am utterly confused about the whole Jack Barlowe bullshit fuckery. I have SO MANY questions. Mostly "WHY?!" When did they know he'd turned? If they knew, why did they spend so much time and effort healing him? Were they testing to see if Venin can be mended? I don't understand. And it all seems very convenient. And, of course, Violet was the one who figured out there was a traitor. Also, the way it was done... WTF.

I very nearly DNF'd this one. I decided to continue, even though Alice is a cunt. Once I realised this is a lesbian romance, I hated that she'd be the love interest of the much more palatable Lottie. It was also taking a damn long time to get into the paranormal stuff, which is what I was really here for. Right now, it's kind of lacklustre.

Ok, so the Gryphon fliers academy do things the NORMAL way, not the death-colledge way. Good. At least some people in this world aren't insane murderers.

Also, I want the story retold from the Gryphon side. There aren't enough "gryphon rider" stories. I love dragons, but "bonded to a dragon" is quite overdone.

I love that this dude had no idea what a skunk was. And then got sprayed. Just hilarious!

29/04 - Way back in March 2020 I started listening to this audiobook. Then my phone broke and I lost the file. Yesterday I found it, so I restarted it today. So far so weird! Absolutely one of the strangest books I've read ever. Just listened to a chaper from the perpective of a lion. Fantastic!

We're definitely meant to hate Varrish. I absolutely do. Like, vehemently. Very much an Umbridge-type. Gives me the ick.

So full of tropes, but I'm enjoying it immensely, and can't put it down.

I heard it was like Dragon Riders of Pern, so I was honestly expecting more smut... Approximately 70% before it got smutty...

23/04 - I knew it! As soon as there was mention of a "special" type of dragon that no one ever sees and doesn't bond, I KNEW there would bloody be one at Threshing. A feathertail. Because of course there is.

Gotta love that trope. Oh, that special, rare thing that doesn't happen? Yeah, here it is happening to our MC because she also is special and rare.

Ok, so, we spilt the party (don't ever do this), and heard all about what one half was up to, but we're going to completely skip over the other half of the party, who seem to have actually accomplished something?! WTF? Do I ever get to learn about "the horrors of their journey to Ice Wall"? I mean, really. What the hell are walrus-men?!

I'm making more of an effort to read this year. I don't like how few books I've been reading.

So, the party found a temple of Mishakal, which is cool because I played as a cleric to her in my first campaign.

I'm definitely over Lexie's complaining and demanding food.

Oh god. Everything he went through...

Oh boy! The version I've got is a 1980s recording, originally on cassettes. Just the introduction and "procedures" at the beginning are immensely entertaining!

It took over 5 and a half hours for anyone to call Lulu "Cuckoo" - I was beginning to wonder...
