It is the very best book every "able" should read to get an inkling about what NOT to say or do to someone struggling and living with health and physical impairment challenges. It is making me re think my attitude towards family friends colleagues strangers who need support and help and not condescension or advice. We don't know how it feel till we walk the path ourselves and therefore cannot judge. Listen more

Hard work for a who done it. But I will persevere as the plot is intriguing

It is a mix of totally interesting and a great insight into the political and social life and times. But it is a bit dreary style. Names nicknamed full names are sometimes confusing to remember who is talked about. Having said that I am still fascinated by the window into a world nearly 100 years old already.

Thought provoking and an opportunity to review values thoughts reactions opinions knowledge. Being honest and eyes wide open is not always easy.

Nearly half way in 3 sessions. It is difficult to put down. It is part of history that has always intrigued but this book opens the historical box of tricks based on facts and research. Cant wait for the evenings to continue the journey. Got to the point where real factual doubts are surfacing and the investigation start from the point of D being framed BUT a stealthy and careful approach is a must.

You can tell the writing is shared and it does not flow so well. A lot of facts are given at the expense of the travel, the meeting of people, the connection with individuals and it makes the narrative heavier less fluent. But I want to continue and go to the end of the journey with Patrick.

The topic and people chosen to be talked about are great and engaging. The writing style on the other hand is extremely annoying. The author believes she can share her judgements and annoyance for all people engaged in the lives of her subjects and it is Unwanted and is putting me off. The research of the lives is lacking depth and all could be found on wikipedia without the constant onslaught of snide remarks.

Must get back to listening to the Shakespeare plays.

I have to restrict my reading to 35mn every evenings otherwise I would not sleep. So many childhood memories are triggered.

Wordy needy painful read. Gave up and I dont very often do that. In the pile going to the charity shop.
